About Me

My tutoring journey began at St. Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven, Connecticut, where I volunteered to help low-income high school students with their history homework and college applications. Hooked by the joy of teaching, I started my own private tutoring business in addition to continuing my volunteer work.

Students come to me for college essays, government/civics, history, test prep, and writing (among other areas). They describe my sessions as relaxed and flexible, but highly informative. I bring a personable and easygoing attitude with an intimate understanding of the highest (Ivy League) academic standards. It’s not uncommon for students to find me after striking out with another stuffy or “cookie-cutter” tutor – I’ve heard stories!

I graduated from Yale with honors in 2021, where I studied politics and history along with a minor in statistics. My thesis traced the recent (last 50 years) evolution of the two major American political parties through the lens of crime politics. My coursework also featured an in-depth study of European history, particularly nationalistic development in Eastern Europe during the 19th and 20th centuries (so be prepared for me to tell you why WWI is just as important as WWII). On campus, I founded and ran a national, non-partisan, civic education non-profit for young people. I am an accomplished writer professionally and academically, with works published in leading academic journals and newspapers.

After graduation, I worked a “9 to 5” at a Fortune 10 healthcare company while tutoring part-time outside work hours. As I re-formatted reformats to PowerPoint slides at my “day” job, I thought about how much more fun I’d be having talking about the Habsburgs or editing a Great Gatsby essay. Thankfully, after two years of corporate work, I gained enough students to begin tutoring full-time—never looking back. I feel fortunate to teach what I love.

When I’m not tutoring, you can find me in the kitchen, on the golf course, or working on my forthcoming book, Whistling Past the Graveyard, an analysis of the last 12 years of American politics.
